The road ahead on your parenting journey is constantly changing. With the RodiFix booster car seat, we’ve made your everyday adventures a little easier. As your toddler transitions to the big kid stage, one of the celebrated signs of their independence is when they can get into the car and buckle up all by themselves. The RodiFix Booster Car Seat is designed with an hourglass shape and locking shoulder guides to help kids buckle or unbuckle on their own, which simplifies your life and makes going places easier.
Key Features
RodiFix has a seat belt guide, so big kids from 40-120 pounds can easily buckle themselves right into the seat. The 12 headrest height options, adjustable with 1 hand, and side wings that flex and expand, provide comfort and support through every growth spurt. This booster seat is wrapped in premium padding and PureCosi™ fabrics, made without wool or added fire retardant treatment, for cozy comfort.
You and your child will both enjoy the reclining ability of the RodiFix. They get a more relaxing ride, and you’ll appreciate how it fits in your car more easily. The booster’s narrow profile also allows you to fit 3 across the back seat in most vehicles––perfect for growing families or your turn to carpool to school.
Safety and Protection
The headrest comes with EPS foam throughout the inside and also is home to Dorel’s proprietary Air Protect Technology, which can reduce head injury risks in side impacts by up to 20%. Similarly, the torso wings of the RodiFix have lots more EPS foam to increase levels of side impact protection and reduce stress and strain on the body during collisions. The RodiFix is rated as an IIHS Best Bet Booster for providing good belt fit.
The RodiFix has a rigid LATCH attachment instead of a flexible one. This is an attachment system that’s more secure than the typical flexible attachment found in most high-end boosters in North America. The rigid LATCH configuration may prove more stable in side impact collisions, increasing the safety of children in the deadliest kinds of collisions. The Rigid LATCH connectors make the RodiFix simple and easy for you to secure and install.
Comfort and Convenience
The seat is 12 inches wide at the base of the seat, which makes it significantly easier to install than many boosters. The seat weighs 14.5 pounds, which makes it one of the lightest high back boosters out there, and definitely the lightest on the market right now with rigid LATCH attachments. There are no armrests.
With rigid LATCH connectors, the seat will stay in a fixed position for an easier click. All you have to do when using the LATCH system to attach the RodiFix is to pull the connectors out and move the seat until it sits on your vehicle’s lower anchor bars. Similarly, the removal is also quite easy, as you can detach each side one at a time. When you aren’t using the connectors, you simply tuck them into the seat.
Keeping the RodiFix clean is simple. The seat pad removes easily and is both machine washable and dryer safe. The premium fabrics are plush, comfortable and self-wicking to help deodorize and draw liquids away from the skin.
Growing with Your Child
The RodiFix features a synchronized multi-height headrest and expanding side wings that grow along with your child and help ensure that the vehicle belts are in the best position. To adjust the width, hold the side wings and push them out until they lock into position with a click. The Maxi-Cosi Rodifix uses a button on the top of the headrest to help adjust the headrest up and down. Squeeze the button and slide the headrest up or down until it’s in the correct position.
Installation Guidelines
This booster seat is designed to make it easier for children to buckle themselves in with a belt routing system that is easy for young travelers to learn. The Maxi-Cosi Rodifix shoulder belt guides have a lock on the belt guide that keeps the shoulder belt in the guide at all times. The lock is easily pushed in when threading the belt through the guide, and requires an outside force to push it in to remove the seat belt.
The Maxi-Cosi Rodifix has a few recline settings. These settings are only to be used to install the booster seat flush against the vehicle seat back. The recline angle cannot be adjusted for comfort or preference, just for installation.

What Parents Are Saying
One parent from Walnut Creek shared their experience: “For safety, the rigid latch attachment on the Rodifix is great and brings a lot of peace of mind. This seat is also more narrow than the Graco and Chicco seats. This makes buckling in easier for my son. My son is thin so he fits the seat well. The head rest is not too wide so it encourages my son to sit up straight instead of leaning left or right. The seat belt shoulder height holder keeps the belt in place. I recommend this one over the Chicco kidfit and Graco Tranzitions for every day use.”
Another reviewer noted: “I have always bought maxi cosi seats since he was born because of the high safety rating and the comfortable seat. I have 4 of their convertible car seats that we love but he needed something that he could easily get the seatbelt on and off. I really like that it reclines to fit different seats and that it is narrow and would fit in my moms mustang really well. I also like that it has the latch system so the car seat stays in place even when a child is not in it and does not become a projectile if they don’t snap the seat belt over it when empty.”
A grandparent shared: “Fits both my 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter and her 6-year-old brother comfortably. Allows child to sleep without being uncomfortable. Both have graduated from Maxi-Cosi car seats to this booster seat. It is especially good for very long car trips. As with all Maxi-Cosi items, it is easy to install with LATCH connectors and easy to clean.”
One 6-year-old user herself was so happy with the seat that when her grandmother offered to find a different one due to the buckle requiring some effort, she insisted on keeping it saying “no no it’s too comfy!”
Expert Review
Mike from The Car Crash Detective, a child passenger safety advocate with 16 years of experience working directly with kids and 9 years researching car seat safety, describes the Maxi-Cosi RodiFix as “one of the best booster car seats currently available in the United States for children above the age of 4.” He particularly appreciates the rigid LATCH attachment system and notes that “because it’s just 12 inches wide at the base, installation is just great in almost all conditions.”

Important Safety Information
Read all instructions before using this booster seat. Failure to follow the warnings on the labels and in the instruction manual can result in serious injury or death to your child. Children should ride in a rear-facing car seat as long as possible, until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their seat. Once they have outgrown their forward-facing car seat, children should use a belt-positioning booster seat until the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt fits properly. This is often when they have reached at least 4 feet 9 inches in height and are 8 to 12 years old. All children younger than 13 should be restrained in the rear seats of vehicles for ultimate protection.
